How quick do deer use new bedding¿

There is a new beaver pond in the area I hunt. It kind of screws up one of my travel routes but I got to thinking it may actually create some new bedding areas. Singing bridge's podcast actually made me think of it as a positive change.

The question is, this pond formed over the winter and really filled up this spring.so how long will it be until they start using it as a barrier for bedding? Is it worth betting on it this fall? I can probably scout between this pond and the acorns this fall with a stand on my back but thought somebody may have experience with bedding around terrain changes during the first year.

I think it depends on deer density. I think would find it quick

I think some of the flooded timber needs to die and cause thick low growth that creates a good transition 1st. That could take a year or two.

Thanks guys. I'll have to see how big it gets this summer. I think it is going to flood into some 15 year old popplar slashings on two sides so there may be some cover thick enough to offer decent bedding.
