I have a question, when you located a buck and you been seeing him frequently in mostly the same areas do you guys keep shining him to follow were he is at, or do you hold off and let him be.

I don't light him up constantly, but I do try to keep tab's on him, and keep track of where he shows, when he shows, and on what winds. All of that can give you clues to the areas he is bedding.

So what winds do you pay attention to? That nights. Or those from daylight and/or late evening preceding the sighting..

The day time wind direction that he would of been bedded on.

I have thought about trying to go at different times at night. Say you see him at dusk on a NW day, the next time you go try it on a NW day try to go out at say 10 or a little later and see where he moved to. Reversing the times you go as well. Go at 4am when it's closer to the time for him to head back in the woods. Where hes at could provide a clue on where hes headed if you know known bedding areas and what wind is going on. Just some thoughts of mine.
