He's back!

Unread postby seazofcheeze » Sat Jul 04, 2015 2:53 pm

I hunt in east michigan, where there are literally 8 guys per 40 acres on opening day of rifle season, so how this guy made it to what I believe is 4 years old this year is beyond me. I wanted this buck bad last year, and I had one encounter November 9th 2014 where he came in trailing a hot doe. The doe worked down wind of me while he was still 40yds out and quartering to me...10 more yards and this guy was probably toast, but the doe blew off and the buck went right behind her.

Here he is in 2014 as what I believe to be a 3 year old.

Here he is 9 days later (2014)

Now this definitely isn't the biggest buck in the world, but Dan talks about hunting the best bucks in your area, and for my area, a 4 year old buck literally might as well be a unicorn...even 3 year old is really rare because of so many small parcels with tons of pressure.

Here he is 2015...#1 deer I will be after. I hope he sticks around. I'll be looking for more between now and October, but I'm super excited that this guy made it through, especially after coming so close last year.

Here he is 2015.

I learned a lot about this guy during 2014 trail cam pics and post season scouting. I looked for his sheds multiple days but came up empty. I found some new bedding areas, so I'm hoping he is calling one or more of them home.

Well, I got some more pics of this buck, but he didn't really turn out how I was hoping in terms of inches added. Even though, this is still the most mature buck I've ever had pics of and had a chance at, so game on. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'll keep the thread updated with anymore pics and once I start hunting for this guy.
