Link is dead?
Interested to see what you have. Not a lot of new ideas when it comes to hinge cutting and I'm always looking to improve.

Not seeing anything yet.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: New way to hinge cut
Not a new method of hinge cutting but I have done it in the past to help enhance an entrance to a bedding finger. No longer hunt the land but trial and error made hunting this area more improved.
In the off season if you have small enough diameter trees that you can push and pull them far enough so they bend over without breaking, then use a rope from the tree top (im talking 8-10ft trees with 1-3" diameter trunks) to a base of another tree or stake in the ground. Dont cut the tree but instead take a knife and put a small incision in the backside of that bent tree where it is stressed. This gives a few advantages..
1. The tree dies slower leaving the foilage on the tree making the cover last longer
2. eventually the grains on the incision side begin to weaken and keep the bent shape (Ive been able to go back and move my rope to different trees after while the tree's incision heals but the tree keeps growing in the bent over shape)
3. with a typical hinge cut especially if talking about bedding cover the rustling of the dead leaves on a windy day cause havoc on your ability to hear approaching deer - the method above drops the leaves just like any other tree at that time of year because essentially it is still alive for now
