Just picked up a wicked pole saw and Im wondering if anyone has done anything to quiet down their saw...when the saw blade is folded up it clanks around a bit against the cast aluminum......just looking for some ideas if anyone has tinkered with theirs. I don't want it clanking around while its strapped to my stand and I'm walking in..

If there's enough room, throw a stealth strip or tape on inside of both sides. Just an idea....

Thiis sounds good. I had a folding bowsaw that I used to pack once in a while. I had to wrap the blade with some leather to keep it from rattling. Actually kinda placed the piece of leather of the correct length and width just barely in the slot and then let it fold around the blade as i pushed it into the slot for it.

Re: Wicked Pole Saw
I am very particular about the sharpness of my knives so I often put a piece of wax twine or thin piece of rubber in the handle of my folding knives. It stops the blade from hitting the back of the handle dulling the blade when I close it. That might help stop the rattle.

Re: Wicked Pole Saw
From the instructions...
"Step 8: To close head assembly for transport, ALWAYS FOLD BLADE INTO HEAD FIRST!!!! Push lock button to release the blade lock, and carefully rotate blade into head casting part. When fully closed, the blade should lock into position. Note: The rubber posts that touch the tip of the blade when closed are designed to prevent the blade from rattling against the aluminum head while walking. Do not cut or remove the rubber posts."
If your saw is not working, I would email Todd, or pm him here.

Re: Wicked Pole Saw
Shoot me an email todd@wickedtreegear.com
Several things can be done. #1, tuck the blade behind the little rubber "posts" that are sticking through the bottom of the casting. They are meant to be dampener's to put between the blade and the casting.
I can't tolerate ANY noise on my stuff. I'll help you get it quiet.
Thanks,
Todd
