Sometimes Im happy to be more lucky than good

Unread postby hunter10 » Fri Jun 19, 2015 11:34 am

Ive been eyeing up a piece of land in a suburban area for years. Major road on one side, houses lining the street on the other side with about 150 yd funnel running about a mile down the road eventually leading into a big chunk of land I already have permission to. Tonight for some reason i figured it was time to make a phone call out of the blue (pouring rain here or else id be asking in person). This is where it gets funny.

First call = phone dies
second call = owner was having a nap (wife woke him up  )
Third call = wife decides it time for dinner at 430pm. call cut short
Fourth call = He calls me back as wife took him off the phone to eat dinner. Talks to me about things, told him I would like to stop in and meet him and talk hunting possibility.

End up with 45 acres to bowhunt in an area where big bucks grow due to being safe in the suburban backyards.. Now the hard part, finding the best way to get in and out undetected by the neighbours! 8-)

Neat thing about it is if i teed up a golf ball from this property i could hit a golf course, hockey arena and marina all from a spot ill likely be up in the lone wolf!

That seems like an interesting little chunk of heaven. Sounds like an overlooked spot.. Receiving permission is very rewarding. 8-)

Sounds like a good spot.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
