shot a doe

Unread postby wmihunter » Fri Oct 22, 2010 1:03 pm

shot my deer with a bow on public land! Gotta find it yet though. shot was at 5 yards and I was at leadt 15 feet up so it was a steep angle. It looked got-she did the low to the ground death run but the blood trail petered out fast, arrow is covered in blood but does have a little smell to it-but there is no gut residue. I am 99% sure she is down. hopefully I got more than one lung...

sorry for the late reply. internet has been down this weekend. long story short. i hit her high in the lungs and the exit wound was just past the diaphram-some fat or intestines plugged up the exit wound. I think i one lunged her. she ran 1/4 mile (by GPS coord). blood traiul was weak-just small drops here and there. nice thing was that she died 30 yards from a farm lane on pvt property and the people were ok with me tracking on their property which was nice.
