looking for some expert on advice on whether or not a marsh could almost be to big to hunt, the picture below is public land and it is 70,000 acres, 90% of which is complete marsh/swamp like the aerial image, but to me there isn't any nearby food sources where i could locate deer movement to/from bed..would you guys attack something like this? how would you go about scouting this land? it is waste high water for the most part..and do the deer have any food sources in a complete marsh like this?
hunting a marsh that doesnt appear to have any food sources?

Swamps have an abundance of food. The problem like you said is it is not in defined areas. I wouldn't worry about food, I would simply worry about the high ground. In large swamps like that deer utilize every bit of dry ground available. I don't hunt much 'flooded timber' or large ambiguous swamps anymore, it is just really really tough. Hard to pinpoint specific beds on aerial maps, water levels may fluctuate, generally there is food and bedding scattered all over, just all around tough to hunt. Perhaps some of the LA boys can give you some pointers.

I agree with everything PK stated. They browse on everything so targeting food is tough. I focus on those subtle edges like you have in that 2nd pic but it's really hit and miss depending on the deer density. But like PK stated it's really tough. I love that kind of hunting when i have success but it can be really frustrating most of the time with the difficulty in using aerials...
On the flip it probably gets minimal pressure and if it has a decent herd that is a huge plus. I'd spot check the highER ground for an idea
