Good stuff. He was stoved up for sure.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Nice looking buck, he must have been stuck for sometime judging by the legs going out on him for a bit.

I've personally seen 1 1.5 y.o. buck and 1 cow elk skewered on steel fence posts. Also had other people tell me about a handful more.

Just like people sometimes animals miss judge things while jumping. I personally think most of it happens at night. Because the 2 I saw they weren't there the evening before but , were, there early the next morning.

This is just conjecture but it looked to me like he tried to jump the bales and missed.
