rub lines

Unread postby mauser06 » Sat Mar 21, 2015 3:44 pm

What do distinct rub lines tell you when you are scouting? They are one of the more predominant things you see...well...for me...

I know size..height...look of its been rubbed in years passed...

I'm wondering though...direction...day time/night time..what you can learn from rubs other than a buck once stood there...

Do you find distinct rub lines are close to the bedding cores? Or farther away?

Is it worth hunting rub lines?

What time of season do you see the best rub line action?

Being such a predominant feature I fing while scouting I wanna learn more about what rubs and rub lines can tell me....

Ts something I've never known much about...other than "yep a buck once stood here...". And if there was bark laying on the ground I could bet it was pretty fresh...

And some rubs are random...some are in/near beds...and some are in lines...

I have had a rub line lead me to a buck bedding area before...

One other time the rub line led me to the public property line where up ahead I looked and it was the only piece of good cattail bedding within about a mile radius, couldn't check it out though. Had to be some decent bedding in there.
