Yes. You are frost seeding on ground that is going through a regular freeze-thaw cycle. This allows for good seed to soil contact and subsequently good conditions for germination once soil temperatures are right. Furthermore, the freeze thaw cycle is important in the stratification of switchgrass seed which improves the timing of germination compared to conventionally planted switchgrass (although some of these gains are lost due to seed soil contact).

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Went shed hunting after work and then prepped a couple tree for bear season. Making up for lost time at work right now.

It will happen. Patience.

Is this any different than frost seeding prior to winter freeze?

No. If you can swing seeding during the late hunting season, go for it! It would likely improve stratification/germination performance and seed to soil contact of switch if you broadcast early.

I'm sure pictures don't do him justice. Probably went about 330, right?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Working on Chapter 1. Stomach flu took me out Tuesday - Thursday AM. Scouted hard last weekend. Catching up at home and in the plots after the health issues. I'm hoping for the first installment next week. Need to find some pics in the basement.
