I don't know if any of this is accurate but apparently this was filmed this year in a small SE MN town. Crazy tines!

No kidding, he doesn't look like much at first but if you keep watching the video you can see pretty clearly he is 200 inch deer.

Re: Eye Candy Buck Video
that is likely a metro deer. excelsior mn is near minnetonka.
my brother lives in bloomington, not that far away and has deer like that come through his yard, along the lake.
these deer are untoucheable. the only way they get taken out is by car or sniper hunts.
they bait the deer to a field in the park and flip on the flood lights and smoke em all.
he calls and tell's me "that big one is back, he's in my yard right now"
I tell him they might as well not even exist.
if there were any season on them, they would never be there.
awesome deer at any rate I guess if your into nature watching.
I just want to lay smack down.

jigglestick I am pretty sure you can archery hunt in the metro, of course access is the major problem but I know of a lot of guys that hunt down there. There are also a few organized hunts people can apply for so I wouldn't call every buck down there un-huntable but I am sure a great many of them are.

Re: Eye Candy Buck Video
I'm not sure how far out towards minnetonka you have to go before it opens up to any kind of hunting, but it's so populated down there, I wouldn't be surprised if you still have to be ten miles west of minnetonka.
I do know you can archery hunt on the south side of the river down by shakopee...trying to remember the name of the area...hamden slew? maybe?out towards Jordan, but as you go back east it shuts off.
if you go north, I think you have to get out towards the 35 E/W split.
to the north west...probably out past maple grove.
I'd like to look at a map that the metro deer hunts encompass. I bet i'd be surprised with a few locations where they do hunt.
there was a gal about three years ago that layed the smack down on a giat buck I think it out to the north east metro somewhere, but it was deffinately a metro hunt. there is like a club you can belong to to get involved in those hunts too.
she proved that it can be done, I mean smoking a true giant metro deer.
wish I could remember her name.

Re: Eye Candy Buck Video
I know what deer you are talking about.
I know a few people who hunt in and around most of the suburbes, usually in the small pockes of land that isn't good for housing. I live well alway from the metro (thank god) but I have done some scouting behind my in-laws house, there isn't much woods there and I could see houses in every direction but my father in law has seen some giants in his back yard as well.
