A buddy of mine had a buck come in close a couple years ago (I'm talking head down feeding at 5 yards... his platform is 15' up) and when he let his arrow fly his cam hit the arm rest. He missed by 5 feet. just something to keep in mind guys.

We killed a 150" and a 135" out of ladder stands last year. Stands were only about 100 yards away too. I got a good deal on 10 new ladders stands about 5 years ago so I bought a bunch. I try not use them anymore because I have size 14 boots and my buddy has size 16 and both are over 6'6" so maneuvering in them is tough. Hang on and ladder sticks are the preferred choice for us now. I do like them when used on huge oak trees and shots are only in a 60 degree radius and you don't have to adjust your feet too much.

We've had 3 mature bucks killed from a ladder stand on our farm in the 7 years its been there and many other sightings. Like someone else said they aren't ideal for public but on private put up and left alone till the right time is good.
