Sounds like maybe he just jumped the wounded doe and it happened to run into him? Also it says was hunting at 7:30 p.m. I'm assuming that was when he was tracking, or the DNR would love this one!

Back in the late 60s my grandfather was attacked by a Doe after he shot her with a 30-30 rifle. I was only a short distance away and he arrived at my stand and I didn't recognize him due to all the blood. He was sitting on the ground and shot the deer thrust the jugular vein. The Doe charged him and had him pinned against the tree before he could shoot again. Blood gushed all over his body and he finally managed to slap her upside the head with the but of the rifle. The Doe fell over dead and im sure it died from blood loss. My grandpa had scars on his inner thighs until the day he died. I was about 7 years old when this happened and for several yrs after this i was scared to death of deer. Lol

Remember the kid that got stuck by his arrow turkey hunting. He went to pick it up and it jumped up at him. He got impailed in the stomach with his own arrow. That was right near the Y in Oconomowoc.

I knew a guy that was out small game hunting and was attacked by an 8 pointer. He shot the deer dead. The dnr came out and charged him for Poaching. He took it to court and won and the charges were dropped.

I had a buck chase a doe once within 3 feet of me while walking into stand . I jumped behind a tree in a swamp was something I won't ever forget scared the blank outta me I was 16 at the time. Though that buck didn't care at all about anything except that doe .
