Re: How many 125"+ bucks have you called in and killed?
Just remembered a SD buck I called in. Was calling at a buck chasing a doe on a hill side and when I hit the doe bleat can I had a mature half racked buck (would have been 140ish if both sides were similar) come charging in from my right side. He hung up at 20 yards when he couldn’t see any deer. He stood there a couple minutes then 180’d and I never got a shot.

I've called several nice bucks in with a Haydels DG-87. Two, following does with a K-Meer deer call. Several with a Primos can. A couple rattling. One came in when it heard me trimming a Pin Oak for a saddle hunt. I voted 3, to the best of my recollection.

I've only killed one buck over 130" and he wasn't called in. I have called in a few and killed them but they missed 130" by several inches.

I voted 3. There have been a lot of deer over 125 I've called in and passed. I've backed way off of my calling in recent years and use it as a hail Mary only now.

I've killed zero, but I've scared a whole bunch of them with a grunt. From either poor calling techniques, or because the bucks are too pressured.
I recall calling at a 130 class buck once, I grunted once right towards him. He looked right at me then took off. Another buck crossed my path when I did a does estrus "drag." That was useless, he looked my direction then took off. I guess human scent and a desperate sounding grunt was too much for him.

It's not the destination, it's the journey getting there!
