Already been scouting as our season came to a close 12-16.Between scouting,a little coyote hunting, messing with my jeep and a few others I am pretty busy till right before spring turkey each year.I have my friends M715 army truck in the shop right now he and I are in the middle of building.Maybe I will start a little thread on it.Going to be a interesting ride for sure!!

Start shed hunting..... if you get good at it or find a good local or 2,3,4... it is more fun than actual hunting!

X2. Watching them grow from year to year is my favorite part. I feel a greater connection with the deer herd when I watch them grow from year to year. You don't need cushy private to participate.

Ha! Yea we feel it. Why do you think so many people start acting hormonal this time of year on forums? Its the time of year where we all sit around and yack about our feelings. I would be more inclined to call it deer hunting PMS...where the P stands for POST lol.

It will fade in about 3 months or whenever we get spring thaw....

I get a mild case every year, little more this year because my late season hunts were very limited. However most of the time I transition pretty easily to scouting and ice fishing to keep me busy. Also after a long fall the projects around the house build up a bit so its always good to pound those out in the off season.

My season is over, but for me I'm just moving on to a different stage of my deer cycle. Shed hunting is next, then food plotting, and before I know it I'm back in the woods with a bow.

If I was unable to scout in the off season it would kill me, but as long as I can scout it keeps me fired up for future hunts. I'm already thinking about it, just have one or two more hunts to go.

I'm hearing that this year's fawns are being followed by bucks during daylight - especially yesterday and today in the cold.
