I built one, going to try it out this weekend. I will post some pics when I get it finished up.

I was out on my step ladder about three weeks ago. I grunted in a buck, but had made the mistake of not being nestled against scrub brush. He came in behind me and winded me.

Definitely nowhere for me to have hung a stand.

It is out in the woods now. I'll be using it again this month.

What are everyone's thoughts on a fiberglass step ladder with regard to noise?

Thanks Dan. I may go out and get a fiberglass one this week. I'll be checking Ace hardware tomorrow.

I know I'm late to the party but what you are trying to achieve is a Marching Band Podium and replace the stock wheels with some nice ribbed wheelbarrow tires. If you drill the bottoms out to 5/8 and run some landscape timbers across the bottom it floats well in the cattails.

I know a fella that has been down this road...They collapse and can be wheeled much easier or strapped on top of a canoe. And the fold flat enough to transport well in a station wagon or truck bed.

They are crazy money new but you would be surprised what you can find them for on places like craigslist or second hand supply stores.

Google "Marching band podium"

Oh, and a canoe seat backer and a nice foam pad will make long sits much more doable.
Pimp your ride and put a quiver lock on the side and the flip out hook you put in the stake pockets of truck beds for your pack...But you can do that on any ladder set up....
