Now the bottom snow will be crunchy. Just because there's snow doesn't mean it's good snow. Some snow is crunchy as leaves or worse. I have till Dec 31st. NY deer season is officially closed .

I asked my wife if she minded me taking a few vacation days and buy a MA license - she said whatever I want.
Not sure if that means OK or not...
Passed a truck on the highway with a good buck in the back - got me thinkin' harder!!!

Re: What are you doing right now? LATE SEASON, WARM WEATHER?
I went tracking today. I tracked one deer all day for miles. I only caught one quick glimpse of him. I would have bet on myself catching up to that deer today as conditions were dang near perfect. I would have lost the bet...
One weird thing, well two weird things. I kept crossing a bear track in the snow. Thought it was kind of late and cold for a bear to be out roaming. He was digging for acorns from what I could tell. I took a pic of the track don't know if it came out yet. And the other odd thing was a beaver that let me get about 3 feet from it. It just went about it's business. I tried for a pic of that too, but I don't think you can see much.
The deer took me for quite the loop, I'm whooped.

A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

Good luck on the tracking. Keep your legs rested.
Pretty late for bear still out. A young one first year hibernating by itself?

Re: What are you doing right now? LATE SEASON, WARM WEATHER?
Iowa late muzzy starts next monday and we are suposed to get a little snow monday-tuesday. I am as happy as a possum in a chicken coop about that
So I guess you won't be buying that liscence. Anyone who has been married a few years knows what "do whatever you want" means (Hint it doesn't mean OK!)

Too kind...
Although one of my prized memories was hitting that 8-point in MO while on foot and then doing the same to the 6-pointer the following day (antler restriction and too young...).
Felt like Tonto for a minute!!!
