In Michigan i see way less yotes near the roads during the day too, big roads/highways can sometimes provide 180 degree security for loner deer similar to how a lake, river, or bluff would

Re: The road
Big bucks stay where they are the safest...that means its either remote, hard to get to, or overlooked. To be honest I have not found a lot of overlooked spots within a few hundred yards of the road or parking lot in hill country (small game hunters stomp through about everything) but I have found a few good ones over the years. I could see it being easier for other terrains to have more overlooked spots. They are out there.

Re: The road
There is a reason people hit deer at dawn and dusk and it's not because the deer stood up from their bed 2 miles away and sprinted towards the road.

Re: The road
Are we talking about a good spot to hunt deer or a good spot to hunt mature buck bedding?
The later is difficult to find near a road but they exist.
The former is hard to find but readily available.
