On a warm and windy day , early Nov Inside a nasty little thicket starting around 2 o'clock , I Watched a giant 10 with stickers and a drop tine breed two does and then chase a another young doe for two hours while fending off several young bucks and a 2 and a half year old . This all happened in an area no larger than an acre.

You hit the nail on the head right here. Every time I've seen a ready doe there is always at least 3-4 bucks trying to breed her. Usually one buck is 3.5+ yr old while the others are 1-2 yr old. I can only assume when 2 or more older bucks target the same doe serious fights break out...also something I've never witnessed.
I just kill mtn bucks

4 times clearly.
Another screened by thick understory but still very apparentl.
Best was two breeding the same doe.
I got to witness the whole "rape". Twice.
Over an hour long ordeal.
The second buck to breed her was a stud. In hind site I could have easily killed it.
Too caught up in the spectacle to think straight.
Awesome encounter though.
Actuall breeding was just under 40 yards away in a field.
Crazy day afield!
