Wisconsin Gun hunt: Freezing rain/rain
Sound like the weather is not going to be good for the weekend, this should get some big bucks through until next year.

Only 20% chance where I am headed. That's not going to be enough to keep them alive

Central and Southern WI should be good for Sat. Sunday looks to be the rain day. I woke with a bit of a bug. Why now. Oh well. I may have to skip bow hunt tonight. Good luck to all the Beasts!

Why does that always happen? When I was 12 I battled the worst pneumonia a kid could ever have. I didn't let that stop me from my first gun hunt even if it was pouring rain outside . Not the smartest thing I ever did. I can still hear my mom yelling about me going. It would have taken more than that to keep me from the first time carrying a rifle in the woods.

Not sure about a lot of the state, but over in the FDL/Osh/Appl area, I still see a lot of corn up. Rain and lots of corn up save the deer. More for me later.

Re: Wisconsin Gun hunt: Freezing rain/rain
I hope the freezing rain by me gets the hunters out of the woods early... I want to push some little bedding pockets and I don't want other hunters to see the deer we shoot.

Re: Wisconsin Gun hunt: Freezing rain/rain
My biggest worry is trees glazing up. One year awhile back I had a very scary incident trying to get out of my tree when I noticed it was completely covered in ice. It was like trying to get down a greased steel pole. Even with my safety harness on I slid down the tree stopping just before hitting the ground.
Be careful guys. Looks like freezing rain for most of the state.

Im expecting low harvest numbers the first couple of days.....
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND
SOUTHERN MINNESOTA... AND WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN.
.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.
LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE AND AREAS OF FOG ARE
POSSIBLE TONIGHT...MAINLY SOUTH AND EAST OF AN OWATONNA TO RICE
LAKE WISCONSIN LINE.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
ON SUNDAY...RAIN IS EXPECTED...POSSIBLY MIXED WITH SLEET OR
FREEZING RAIN OVER WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA. PRECIPITATION IS THEN
EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO ALL SNOW FROM WEST TO EAST SUNDAY NIGHT.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS APPEAR POSSIBLE MONDAY AND MONDAY
NIGHT...ALTHOUGH SPECIFIC AMOUNTS ARE UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME.
STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL ALSO BRING THE THREAT OF BLOWING SNOW
AND LOWER VISIBILITY MONDAY THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY.
