Agree with MO that avoiding being skylined is a really big one. Having cover directly behind u helps a ton. But that cover is not always available which is where your camo kicks in. Im not big on camo but i do get picked off in the tree sometimes so i cant say how much i think it helps.

A few years ago I started looking at duck hunter patterns for my tall grass CRP areas. It might have helped while I was on the ground. I think a ghillie suit would be even better but no experience firsthand.
