Rutnstrut wrote:That's pretty neat, I love having "yard" deer. I used to have some pretty big bucks that would hang around our old house. I could be outside working in the yard, and they would eat at the bird feeder or the apple tree 20 yards away and pay me no attention. I also talked to them, they would often come out of the woods and into the yard when they would hear me. I sometimes would treat them to a few pumpkins or some corn. But never fed them on a regular basis, all my buddies knew my "pets" were off limits.

x2. But a lot of them think I'm nutz.

That's awesome! Glad you don't feel the need to kill him.

That's a really cool video. I'm getting ready to move to Ontario this next summer. Looking forward to chasing some Canadian whitetails.

One thing we have up here is big bodied whitetails. Where in Ontario?

Acton area. Not sure how the hunting is that way or any public land but I've heard the bucks there can be some giants

I think the Honda Plant is there. Lots of deer down there (compared to here at least - cause there are no wolves). Lot less public hunting as well. Most people hunt on farms in that area. Great turkey hunting too (for Ontario at least).

Looks like I'll be trying to get some permission to hunt the land that way

Yeah! That's the unfortunate thing about Canadian bucks. They only understand French. ;)

Hay Dhurtubise , if you get a pic of that old buck post the pics ok. I also wonder if ya can get an age from the shed you got form him last year. And also, you can bet if you fed that deer last April, he remembers you. At my cabin in northern WIs. those der come right up to me in April when I have not seen them in 5 months. I recognise them too. Here is a pic if I can get it on the video of how tame deer can get when you feed them.
