I received the letter this year on testing the new deer registration online which I believe will be available for everyone in the state next year. If anyone else has used it this year or will be I will say it takes about a minute to complete. Easy to say the least. Moving forward Wisconsin!!!

I got the letter too. I used it the other day online and it is very easy and fast. It probably only took a minute.

Good to hear it's working well. Now get rid of back tags and we will be heading in the right direction.

I got it too, used it on two bucks, but registered my doe in person to get the stamp. Hopefully we keep moving Wisconsin forward...

according to the warden I ran into during the waterfowl opener, the back tags will be gone in a couple of years. hope that means 2 max!

Re: WI online deer registration
For some reason I was thinking that WI had gotten rid of the backtags last year and already had the online registration option until I reread the regs. MN has no backtags and online registration. Pretty nice, but some people take advantage of it, especially when there is EAB. If they shoot a buck they pull out the phone and register a doe that was never actually shot. Burns the tag, but they didn't have to comply with EAB. I've only heard of that happening once or twice, as the only places that have EAB are usually metro hunts.

With the buck sticker in which I used, you must write the confirmation down on the tag or sticker as soon as possible.

By the end of the day we will know for sure if the state is still on track in moving forward.
