I was warned!

Unread postby tmarbut » Mon Oct 27, 2014 1:58 pm

I love my new Lone Wolf Hand Climber! However, I cannot find many straight, limbless trees to climb anymore! What happened?

Enter The Beast!

I guess only small bucks and does like those same areas where the trees are like that! Go figure!

Well anyway, I was warned by Dan and quite a few others that this would probably be the case! As I started paying attention to areas where bigger bucks liked to be, the trees never seemed to be quite right for climbers.

So, I guess it is time for me to start finding things to list for sale on Craig's list so I can get the sticks and platform!

I was warned!

It seems you never can find the perfect tree.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I like my hand climber for specific trees I know ahead of time I will be sitting in. Most times I use my Alpha and sticks but the much lighter hand climber is a nice change sometimes.

I love my hand climber as well but if you are in an area where the trees are not straight you cannot beat a Lonewolf and sticks.

My Summit Viper is pretty damn comfortable, but it does limit tree choices. Good luck on craigslist though. Everytime I find a deal on there I always seem to be too late, and it's already sold.

The climber cost me a buck back in 2010, the only good new is I shot a bigger buck the next night. However the big key was I learned and in 2011 was hunting with an alpha and sticks. Rarely use my climber any more, just love the flexibility and you never know when your plans will change.
