My peeps

Unread postby yungbuck » Fri Oct 24, 2014 5:18 am

This season i realized at last light I can barely see through my peep to the sight pin to the deer. It has already saved one momma doe.

So tell me if i should switch to 1/4 inch prep aperture or why I should stick with my current peep. Any tips ate appreciated

I would go bigger for sure. I went to a 1/4" with no change in accuracy. It's just a reference and smaller doesn't mean more accurate.

A few years ago I ditched my peep and went with an Anchor Sight for this reason.

I like one that leaves me a small light gap between the outer ring of the sight and the peep. This is dicated by the sight aperture but most sights can be moved in or out by mounting holes to adjust this. I use both 1/4 and 5/16 and they seem equally accurate.

Go with 1/4", larger if you like. It let's more light into the peep and therefore into your eye. This means you can see longer during lowlight situations. It shouldn't make a significant difference in accuracy, as stated before it is a reference point.

yup. get the 1/4" and try to shoot with both eyes open. Easy if you are utilizing your dominant eye.
