PA Beasts - Rut Hunting

Unread postby freeboro » Wed Oct 22, 2014 8:11 am

There's another thread but it seems to be more for the Wisconsin / Michigan guys.

For any of you guys in PA / Ohio / NY, what time frame are you think will be hot for catching seeking behavior?

I'm looking into taking vacation the week of 11/3-7 myself, but was looking for input before pulling the trigger.

I am in upstate NY, but taking off Nov. 1-11. I figure that covers the spread well enough before gun opener.

I was only able to get off November 5-11. Everybody I know has that first week of November off. Last year I saw the most rut activity the weekend of November 9. That was in NW Pennsylvania

Areas of Ohio I hunt are typically second week of November. 10-17th is when I've seen peak of chasing last 10-12 years

6-16 for me. NW PA. We have tried that first week of Nov many times and the action is always ramping up as we are leaving. We always do last week of bow now and always have great action.
No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.
Everybody's selling dreams. I'm too cheap to buy one.
