I'll fess up,Dan...The kid at the gas station left your blue registration card out. I registered a doe an hour later.

The kid was busy when I got there so I just filled out the card. Once filled out I put it down while I waited for him. Told him I wanted another antlerless tag and handed him "my" card off the counter for my info. it turned out I handed him yours.

Last thing I said to him when I left was "Put those cards away"...I wouldn't want some guys knowing where I register most MY deer. I've flat-out lied to several people - two guys who are now hunting a whole 'nother part of the county because I had to tell them something...

Anyway, had a group of 4 does and a little 6 pass under my tree an hour before sundown last night. I figured I'd wait...This one stumbled under my stand with just minutes left. WTH,I can use the practice...

Already boned out except the one big hindquarter legbone.

Public land.

Some time during the day Monday someone hung 3 ladder stands and "reserved" a tree with a climber in the best area....Talked to a couple guys on the way in and they said "There's only so many spots. We'll be in there during the rut... We live right here..."...In other words, during the rut there's only room for the (very) locals. Same as last year.

They knew what tree I'd hunted the night before.

Grrr!!!. Time to start using the ghillie and get between their stands and the ...

Congrats on the doe Dan. You are right we don't need no stinking pictures. Two ears, two eyes, two nostrils. We know what a doe looks like. ;)
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

At least next year you can E-register and won't have to worry about all the politics of registering deer.
