Need help

I just shot a stud. I hit him a little low. He was slightly quartering to me so the arrow was angling back. He hunched up some when he took off and was kinda gingerly trotting. He stopped once to look back. I could tell he was hurt.

I tried to get another arrow in him but it was a long shot and went under him. I found my arrow and it didn't smell like guts but it had some white hair on it so I know it exited pretty low.

My gut feeling is I got maybe one lung, maybe liver. Do I push it and go look or leave until morning? He went into standing corn. I think he will lay down.

You never push a gut hit deer unless you want to track for miles. Morning will be here in 12 hrs. Just the right amount of time.

When in doubt leave them alone. It makes for a long sleepless night, but nothing is worse than being on the track and hearing your deer take off.
