Used the Celsius top and bottom and they were very warm for the weight. Love the gear hate the price.

I wear sitka and love it. Comfortable, quiet, and warm. The Fanatic series is awesome for whitetails in November. Worth the price IMO.

I've got the status set and the 90% stuff. I love it. I thought I was crazy for buying it but it is without a doubt worth it. Warm, blocks the wind and very quite.

Re: deer hunting clothes Sitka
I have sets for October, November, and December... sold all my other hunting clothes to buy it to help with the cost. I switched when I lost 130lbs so I had to buy all new gear anyway ... the money from the sale of my other hunting clothes (mounds of them) covered about half the cost of the switch to Sitka... I do love the stuff, works great, quiet, warm, well thought out....etc

I based my setup on the information here http://www.elk101.com/featured-articles/features/2011-sitka-gear-layering-guidelines/sitka-gear-system-recommendations/
In general my setup goes like this:
Early season:
Core baselayers (top and bottom)
90% pants (the ESW pants are probably the replacement now)
Ascent jacket (ESW jacket now)
Core beanie or regular cap
Core or shooter gloves
October:
Core baselayers with traverse baselayers if needed due to temp
Stratus jacket
Stratus bibs
Fanatic vest if needed
Core beanie
Stratus beanie
Core/shooter/stratus gloves depending on temp
November:
Core baselayers with traverse baselayers if needed due to temp
Fanatic jacket
Fanatic bibs
Fanatic vest if needed
Core beanie
Stratus beanie
Core/shooter/stratus gloves depending on temp
December / January late season
traverse baselayers with heavy merino baselayers over top
Fanatic jacket
Fanatic bibs
Fanatic vest
Incinerator cap
Core/shooter/stratus gloves depending on temp

Fanatic series seems to be universal and most use?

For the pre rut through late season in my opinion yes, when paired with a good set of baselayers light / medium / heavy the fanatic suit will keep ya warm quite well... it might be a little heavy for warmer October days and might be cool if the temps really drop in late season but, if I had to chose one set that would be it.

I've been wearing Sitka for 5 years now, I believe, and have become a huge believer. Wrote up a full review on Wired To Hunt at this link ...

As others have mentioned, the price is steep and for that reason Sitka won't be for everyone. But if you can afford it, it's an investment that in my opinion can be worthwhile.

I know this old but just wanted to say Mark did a great job on this review. I plan on buying Sitka after season myself.

Re: deer hunting clothes Sitka
It's the best clothing available in my opinion. Get the Fanatic set. Also make sure you get the size they say to get according to the size chart. Do not buy it a size bigger thinking you are going to put a bunch of layers under it. You won't. For November through the rest of the season all I wear is the merino wool base layer, the traverse top, and the fanatic bibs and coat. That is it. If you buy it a size too big you will HAVE to wear extra layers to fill in the extra space. Don't be that guy. The idea is to be warm without being bulky. I also recommend that you go with the base layers that Sitka makes. Buy everything in the same size as it is designed this way. I also have the Sitka Kelvin vest that goes on under the jacket but do not wear it unless it is near zero degrees out. Sitka is really good stuff. It's warmer than anything I've ever worn, it's light, it's form fitting for less bulk and the pockets on the bibs and jacket could not be better. Try it guys. You will love it.

Re: deer hunting clothes Sitka
I bought the downpour series rain gear last spring and love it. You can tell it is designed by hunters. I have also found myself using it under my wool to keep the wind out because I didn't buy my wool sets with Gortex.
I'm not sure how I feel about the pattern yet. Worth every penny.
