7.5 yr old buck I chased and his shed... Ol' no testies

Unread postby DEERSLAYER » Sat Oct 11, 2014 5:50 pm

I chased the buck for three years and just when I figured him out enough I though I could kill him I lost my chance. I was heading out of town for a hunting trip when I finally put the pieces together and I knew I should have hunted him immediately, but I was all about tradition at the time so I had to go "up north". I planned on hunting him when I returned. I said to my uncle before I left... "You watch, every time I get a big one figured out something happens. The area gets posted, they start logging it the buck gets poached or hit by a car, etc."

Sure enough, when I got home I got a call from him and he said "you will never guess what happened when you were up there?" I said the buck got killed didn't he? He said yup. He got hit by a car and on top of that when they turned him over he had no testicles!

The guy that hit him owns a local hardware and had the buck mounted. He has it displayed there. I haven't talked him in years but I stopped by there today to get a few pics to share on here and he hauled out one of the bucks sheds from behind the counter that a guy gave him. I wanted this buck bad. You can't tell it from the picture, but this was a HUGE bodied buck.

So enjoy these pics of Ol' No Testies. I had fun chasing him.

Gotta love the MASS!

As you can see, the bases are hollowed out. The cavity is over 2" deep.

The hole you see next to the brow(s) goes about 3" deep or more.

That's a beauty, fun chasing them even when it doesn't end as planned.
