Curious if you guys have noticed whether bucks tend to leave beds on a point and travel up or down the point.

I have a few suspected bed areas on a new property but I'm not sure if I should setup for the buck to stage up top or in the bottom. I am not sure of food sources in either locations outside of the main Ag fields in the bottoms visible on the aerial. I was originally thinking it would make sense for them to come up top with the wind in their favor and considering they will be bedded close to the top anyhow. Then again they have watched the bottom and with the falling thermals maybe that's the safer route. I have also read here that they seem to just head where they want to go regardless.

Sooo. Is there a typical pattern you see more often than not, do they head towards immediate browse, or is it completely random given the bucks mood?

Also, will a creek at the bottom of the point have anything to do with decision in direction of staging?

Fantastic question for sure!! I have the exact same set - point with creek at the bottom, I can't seem to figure if the Buck would go up to cut corn fields or stage and go down to the creek...

I'll be watching this...

Idk great topic gut tells me bottom to grab thermals and swirling winds as well as most food is below for my scouted beds...
