1st doe Kinda

Unread postby jafcb » Mon Oct 06, 2014 2:02 pm

Well guys Friday night i was forced to move my stand (i was surrounded by A-holes 3 stands placed within 40 yards ) to a new hunting area. public land tons of deer sign, percinnomin trees (i have no idea how to spell it) and pond. took me about 35 mins to hike into the area and 45 in early morning. i set up with my stand facing the pond about 40 yards off the water edge. had a few doe walking the far side out of my skill range of shooting. then she appeared a simple bleat and she is walking my direction. in my head all im thinking is dont move 50 yards, stay calm dont move 40, she turns and is walking parallel! near side leg forward 30 yards grunt release. I watched my arrow fly true and strike the mark. she squats and runs. ok now im not saying i did a little happy dance and almost fell from my stand but my shins tell a different story.
I go over the advice ive heard from the beast and wait! LONGEST 30 MINS OF MY LIFE! i get down find my arrow soaked in blood! i start tracking with my GPS Hunt app and find blood on leaves and sticks and everything. How in the can a deer have that much blood. i track her up to the main road.
just to see a truck pull off with MY F&*%$%^ Doe in the bed and the A$$ Clown flips me the bird as he spins out. guys i wish i could have taken a photo and shared it with you for all the advice you have given but just knowing that your advice helped me drop my first deer even if i cant enjoy it. thanks guys

Wow that is some messed up stuff!

I just cannot understand how some people conduct themselves.

At least you know you took her and not that dink. Keep up the good hunting.

Man- that's horrible! I know I, looking for my first deer this year, and if that happens to me it be awhile before I could calm myself down. So sorry to hear. As it was said before though, at least you know you were able to put the pieces together and make it happen! Great job!

That stinks, I have heard of this kind of thing happening on a buck, but not a doe. Some people have no hunting ethics I guess.

You get the license plate number? That's terrible. The sad part is that guy probably calls himself a hunter. This is where public land gets it's bad reputation.

That ticks me off just reading it!

I'm sure your thief will have something happen... Karma.

Great shot. Must have been a quick, clean, ethical kill.

I had same thing happen bout 18 yrs ago... I shot a buck with my bow stalking through a thicket... I knew it was a good hit so I just sat down n waited a half hour...as I was waiting I heard a car leave the parking area then pull up to the next rd n stop. I didnt think anything of it till I started trackin the deer... right around the corner from where I shot it was a ground blind... the deer ran right by the blind n died maybe 60 yrds from the rd.. there was my bloody arrow stuck 90 degrees in the ground n a drag going right to the rd...he watched it die then drug it to the rd n went n grabbed his car n picked it up.
