I encountered the 12 point I'm hoping to get a crack at before the others move in on this property. It get hammered through the season but tents to be more so mid October before they will venture very far back in. I used a cut corn field to access tonight. My target buck never knew I was in the stand but when he got to the cornfield I'm sure he crossed my trail coming in. Tomorrow the wind switches and I'm not sure if I should hit the same area or what to do. I didn't get to see him when he crossed my entrance trail but would this likely spook him from this field tomorrow night. I want to o back after him but just not sure on my setup for tomorrow evening. Thoughts?

He came from a different bedding area than I suspected but I have looked in this area in the spring and found beds all over in there. Area i circled in orange. Red was my entrance trail and red dot is stand location. White is bucks route to the cut cornfield. Wind direction blue arrow.
calling for south to Southwest wind tomorrow.

Can you set up directly to the east of your current stand, in the other corner?

What was the reason for walking half way around the field last night, where were you expecting deer movement to be from?

I was going to suggest the same area. With the wind change though, if the cut corn field is your entry point, can you do an entrance using the left side of the cut corn field to keep your scent from blowing into the suspected orange bedding area?

I would hunt it again as soon as you have the same wind.

I saw this 12 point a week ago and he was bedding Where I put the white dot so I looped around on the low side of the field cause I didn't want to get any where close to where I suspected him to be bedded. There is buck bedding on up to the north of that spot too so I chose the pinch in hopes of him coming up to the big persimmon tree before he went off into the corn. Worked out on the 8 but not the big boy.

With wind change he may use the first bed again??
I would say keep hunting him if he is in the area and up during daylight.

No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.

Yeah I had thought that possibly. It was kinda light and variable that day I saw him in it but he could possibly be there. Bit of a head scratcher on this one
