Trailcamera locations

Unread postby briar » Fri Oct 03, 2014 7:14 am

I am just lost on this topic. Where is a good place to put them? Going in and out with them am I doing more harm than good? I have one sitting here that I used once because I really just don't know what the heck to do with it to use it in a productive way.

I am like you. Outside of some inventory work on mineral sites, I have two Trophy Cams that have hardly seen any use because I am too worried about boogering up my spots. That and my concern over theft.

I told myself that this year I would set them up over some beds I found last spring. My idea was that I would hunt the bed. Then, since the spot was already burned, I would set the camera 10-15ft up a tree looking at the bed. At least the cameras would get some use that way and I would get some intel for future hunts.

Stanley has authored some great threads on parallel trails and corridors.

You could setup your cams on spots like these and pull them this winter, ie gather intel for future seasons.
