I got a pattern on an old one!

Unread postby lynchpin » Mon Sep 29, 2014 2:35 pm

In the rain last week, I moved one of my camera's to a new area of my lease. The lease is new for me and I picked it up late June. I noticed a nice trail coming from the neighboring property and decided to place a camera to catch the action. As it turns out this old fella is visible in the am and pm in daytime pictures. That would be good... But this old fella is coming from neighboring property and is about 60 years old with a trusty black dog. All I can do is shack my head and wonder why this old guys jumps a fence to continue his walk. Called my land owner and we will get some leased land signs and no trespassing signs up real quick. The land owner next to me has 300 acres to walk himself ... The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. The camera was only up seven days and he is on there twice a day for 4 days. Wonder if this has gone on all summer. I will keep a positive attitude ... It is all part of the process I guess.

Sounds very frustrating. At least he is not trespassing to hunt i guess.

Id go ask him for permission to hunt and if he says yes, let him keep walking his route. 8-) Dont burn bridges you might be able to cross.

I bet the deer aren't spooked by him. Get some intel from him before giving the boot to him.

Good points... I should try to time my hanging of signs with when he is coming to the area based on his walking patterns. It should strike up some conversation and we can see were it goes from there..
