how do you know the difference between a doe and a buck bed?
I have found a few beds and wonder how to determine if they are doe or buck. One bed is almost impossible to get to undetected. A lake behind it and a 15 yard section of cedar then a field of grass in front. wondered if it was worth trying to set up nearby.

Ed pretty much nailed it, but I will add:
Lots of hair (consistent use)
Worn to dirt or close to it (but not always)

Here is a decent example of doe bedding. It's more about safety in numbers and they bed in a circle to watch different directions a lot of the time.

Bucks will be more isolated while bedding. Usually just enough room for one animal to bed in the spot comfortably.

Do does use the same bed over and over , enough to wear it down to dirt , like a buck ? Or do they normally pop a squat in a general bedding area ?
