My clothes are covered in stickers

Unread postby christian1 » Mon Sep 22, 2014 2:05 pm

Hunted a spot in the southern kettle morraine tonight. It was a ground hunt so I wore my new ghillie. I put it on about 100 yards from stand and then just wore it out. All of my clothes are covered in little green stickers. The ghillie is just covered. Any tips for getting these things off? They are not the usual large brown stickers. They are small green stickers off some type of plant. It's awful. Help!!!

Make your kids pick them off as punishment for some alleged wrong.

My wife asked if I had fun. Between the stickers and the mosquitoes tonight my answer was a solid, "no". Just sayin.

I was sitting at home. .....I sure wished I could have been miserable in the woods as opposed to sitting at home.

I used a spoon to scrape them off my pants last week. It works but you won't get all of them.

The back side of the blade of a folded folding hand saw will scrape off a lot from a jacket or pants...but the ghille needs to be done by hand.....it may help the time pass if you keep count...

I used to pay my kids to pick them off. So I'm of no help whatsoever.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I bought this handy tool called Burr Paw down at the Madison Deer & Turkey Expo. Works great on regular clothing but not sure about ghillie material. That would be tough to do I would imagine.

The Burr Paw has fabric on one side that is similar to the felt side of velcro. For tough to remove stuff it has a inside pocket that holds a plastic credit card type scraper.

In this case it's actually functional. I laughed until I tried it at the show.

Oh the feeling! I use duct tape or my fingers. It has just about turned into a pass time for me.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.
