Too noisy to BEAST hunt
I have no LW or XOP stand which i really want, but am too broke to buy one right now. I do however own a Muddy Hunter stand and will be ordering LW sticks soon. My dilemma now however is that the Muddy is light enough to mobile hunt but comes with a cam buckle and ratchet strap for the top strap to tighten the stand to the tree. Tightening this ratchet strap is too noisy to BEAST hunt and be silent, which is necessary. Does anybody have any suggestions of another type of strap I could use that would be silent but still hold the stand solidly to the tree? OR any kind of mod? And good luck laying down a big boy this year everybody! I know LW is promoted here, but like I said money-wise I'll just have to work my way up to getting one. Thanks in advance.

You can buy a strap from Lone Wolf and it should work on your Muddy.......I would suggest going that route instead of using the ratchet strap.

I would just use the cam buckle strap on the top. Just make sure to cam the stand to the tree.
That is all I use on my XOP(lone wolf knock-off).

It's not the knowing that's difficult, but the doing.

It looks like you could still use a single strap on the top button and cam lock it just like a LW. But I can't be sure. You better try it first close to the ground.

I appreciate the input. I'll have to play with it and maybe that will be enough to hold it to the tree tightly, first I'm going to hunt it twice just because I have it as a pre-hung stand now.

If you use the cam lock method, it will be tighter than using both straps. Give it a try
