Plus your limited on shot angles should a situation change on you, for instance, if a deer got behind you. Great for cutting as you need to face the tree when working. I personally prefer having the tree to my back when hunting.
You can carry a stand up with you. It just eliminates the need for sticks.

You can but then don't you have to take the spikes off or they could clank on the stand platform?

A buddy of mine uses spurs as his main climbing method. He has some video on his you tube page.

That's an accident waiting to happen. You would think he would have atleast used a bow rope to bring his bow & stand up. I can't imagine that being a very quiet set up either.

Re: Anyone try some tree climbers
As I posted earlier..I used them for over 20 yrs. as did all my hunting buddies in Ga. I personally don't know of anyone who had a fall or hurt themselves using pole climbers or tree climbers. We would go up with stand on our back before daylight and also come down after dark..I pulled bow and gun up with cord.
Once in stand I'd take climbers off. They are dangerous to wear on a stand or even walking. The gaffs will hit each other and trip you if you're not careful and if you step on sometime that doesn't give like a rock, log, etc., with the metal that goes under your boot it has no give and will jar your teeth out or make you bite your tongue. Also easy to gaff the inside of your other foot when walking around..especially if bowlegged like me.
I never had a problem with noise going up or down a tree..most trees you can just let your weight push the gaffs in. Really hardwoods like Hickory I avoided as I do with all types of climbers. Pines also due to sap and flaky bark..although I have climbed them many times..just used caution to stick gaffs between the flaky bark and hit solid wood.
I don't use them anymore due to age..bought a pair of the Sportsman Climbers and tried part of one time..killed my shins.
