Marsh Island and Wind

One of the buck beds I found this spring is on a rather large island in the middle of cattails. I think I remember reading in the past that wind does not necessarily have as much of an impact on island beds vs wood/marsh or hill country beds. If the forecast for Saturday is right, we're supposed to have a n/nw wind and sunday s/sw wind. If wind does dictate where a buck will bed on a marsh island, I would really need that s/sw wind for him to be there, however a n/nw wind would be awesome because there would be very little way a deer would smell me from his bed and staging area.

Any thoughts on buck beds and wind on marsh islands? Thanks.

Most of my interior marsh beds are non-wind specific. I would have to look at the bed(s) to say for sure, but I would say if the island is in a cattail marsh I would be 95% sure he beds there on any wind. Bed might shift to a new spot very close, but he is likely still bedding there with the wind in your favor.
