Out squirrel hunting yesterday and walked a new point I had suspicions about. Sure enough there were a couple beds for S and SW winds. The SW wind bed had an interesting feature. The bed was on a very small rise or knob maybe two feet high and just large enough for a deer to lay on. It was well used with hair, scat, and some old rubs. Anyone ever see a bed like this?

I see beds like you described a lot. Probably a better view or better scent flow at the raised position.

Yes, in PA I hunt a couple ridges that have few or no 'points', all the beds are on those little 'humps' in the right elevation.

I hunt flat coastal plain and see this often. There are many ditches running through the big woods and often there will be piles of ditch spoil with brush and small trees growing on them and I'll find beds on the downwind sides. Bare dirt hair the whole 9. That little 2' rise is the ticket in an otherwise featureless topography . One rare occassions when I find these on a transition line. Game on. Gonna give one of these spots a shot tomorrow.
