Summer deer aging
Does anybody else have a hard time estimating the age of a deer in the summer time? I don't know if its the thin red coat or what but they all seem to look young to me, especially early summer. Does anyone have any specific things they look for?

It is harder in summer time to guess age but I feel I've become pretty good at guessing them here in southern MO. If you have some pictures to compare deer in your area you will be able to see age differences. Body size and neck size will be bigger on the older deer

If you don't have pics, the best thing to watch is the belly line and musculature. It is more difficult to define age while glassing, especially while standing in soybeans!
