i know this has been covered before but wanted to share how I am packing in this fall and see if others had similar or different or better ways....todd from wicked tree had a video covering how he packs in and I am going to be using it this fall thanks Todd

I have always tightened mine down this way and I do believe it helps. I do my sticks a little differently though. I like to stick two on each side of the seat shaft and it keeps all the weight in close to your back and makes for easier carrying.

I lay mine on their side, but I do like how he goes through the platform. That is the only reason I use a bungie is so the seat doesn't flop. This way lets you use one less item in the woods.

I viewed that video and I think it's the best way to do it. You don't need bungee straps.

That way works fine and I have strapped mine up that way too but still use bungees to carry my extra clothing in.

X2 in still using bungee for bibs and coat, but the strap method is much tighter than what I did last year so I am grateful for all the many small details the beast helps supply

I lay them flat for this reason. The closer to the spine the better.
