I'VE taken 3 bucks that score between 100 to 118. I've been trying to shoot a buck that scores between 120 to 125 or bigger.

I think a nice buck is what I'm after.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

In my area, a buck that grosses over 100" is a big one. In 20 years between all the buck myself and family have shot, the neighbors shot, and trailcam pics, the biggest I have seen is mid 120's and that's pretty rare. So, my personal goal is 100".

Now, if I drive 45 minutes down the road there is opportunity for bigger bucks, but I don't have the time having 4 kids.

My point is that it is wise for me to stay realistic.

My goal is 5+ years old. Where I hunt a buck that age could score from 100"- 135". I don't care what he scores if he reaches my age criteria.

I have a few pictures of a beast but I know that buck is really old and really wise. My hopes are set on a mature 3.5 regardless score. Now granted if a 2.5 scoring 100 makes me shake on stand he will get the arrow.

I'd like to get my hands on any mature bonehead with a big body, regardless of weapon. I think the last couple winters have been tough on numbers where I hunt ... and probably tough on antler growth.

Good luck this fall.

Maybe you see a buck big enough there's nothing to decide...
