2014 MOON DAYS
2014 moon days
Back by popular request... 2014 moon days. I base my dates on moon o/h or u/f within the 1st couple hours of daylight, or the last couple hours of daylight. Leaning a little heavier before light in the morn, and before dark in the eve. I have seen enough evidence, both thru observation and trail cams to know this works... However, to believe you can simply hunt these days and have great action is another story... My observations tell me that mature bucks move earlier in the eve, and later in the morning on moon days. ( o/h - u/f ) however, the movements by pressured mature bucks is still a short window, you still need to be near bedding... I use the evening info for the beds I just can't quite get close enough to during daylight in the evening. By being patient and waiting for the right moon day, I believe I might get 10 or 15 minutes earlier movement... Might not sound like much, but 15 minutes could be an extra 50 or 100 yards of daylight movement...
In the AM moon days get the bucks returning to there beds a little later... Maybe still grey light, maybe around sunrise, but hopefully with enough light to shoot.

Thanks Dan. Looks like I did good scheduling my vacation this year. I have Oct. 27-Nov 5 off. Yay me.
It's not the knowing that's difficult, but the doing.

Re: 2014 MOON DAYS
Awesome info, Thanks Dan! Very strange, maybe it exhaustion from cutting shooting lanes and access trails, but instead of letters and numbers I see bucks walking around and me shooting one! It's like the Matrix of the deer woods....crazy!

Re: 2014 MOON DAYS
Anyone have the moon chart? I glassed a good buck August 15th at 8:00 PM I also glassed a good buck on August 16th at 7:30 AM. Just wondering how these sitings bumped up against the moon chart?
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
