1 antlered Slob
I located my Slob 10 pointer again shining last night. He was walking parrallel to the road along a fenceline ,He turned to face me and only problem was no right side antler. He is such a massive bodied deer I think he,s pushing 300 # and 1 antler or not I,m arrowing him if I get the chance.I,m guessing if he had a matching right side he would score in the high 160 ,s.
I did,nt see a stump or anything .Any ideas injury or what ?

How are we supposed to know what happened to the deer??? You don't even have a pic up.
I wouldn't shoot a buck with one antler on purpose. Wait till next year.

A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

i think he wanted the members to speculate on what 'may' have happened and he saw it spotlighting, dont think he has a pic.

Oh. Maybe lightning came down and blasted the antler off his head.
Maybe a bigfoot was wrestling the deer and he grabbed an antler and the buck twisted it off to get away.
There's no way to know what happened, just sayin.
Hope you get him if you want him!

That,s what I was thinking 2. I did spot him in this same field last week .I could,nt see antlers shining, but you sure can tell when your looking at a Big Slob. I know that,s what he looked like walking across that field. He came outa the woods turned to look at me and just kept walking away real slow just reminded me of an old man not a care in the world.

Re: 1 antlered Slob
Very good chance it was a car inflicted loss, but now that Spysar brought up Bigfoot, I'm starting to wonder... Is he really out there? Hmm, I'll have to ponder that one.
I passed on a shooter two years ago that had one antler - I regretted it later.

Re: 1 antlered Slob
I would pass on a one antlered buck. That's just me. There is no right or wrong answer. I guess if it was a permanent injury that would be a different story but if the main beam is just broken I would let him walk.
I guess if I wanted a deer for meat I would just shoot a doe instead and hope the buck will have a full rack next year.

Re: 1 antlered Slob
If he's mature I wouldn't care what his antlers looked like, I'd kill him given the chance.......To kill a truly mature deer with a busted or abnormal rack is way more gratifying than a 3.5 year old that has a perfect 130-140" rack.Mature deer are way harder to kill than young ones and to me that's where the trophy lies.
