blind rut hunting

Unread postby trophyhusband » Sat Aug 09, 2014 9:16 pm

So what would the beast tactics be for public land in mid November? This is land is you have never hunted and pressure is considered heavy. So when studying maps and when in the field what are you looking for to increase your chances? Doe bedding? Buck bedding? Funnels? Also this land is in NE kansas.

ps. I didn't see anything when searching if these topics have been covered I apologize. Oh yeah archery hunting btw.

Funnels near suspected bedding, away from any sort of access or human foot trails, preferably behind some sort of water barrier.
No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.
Everybody's selling dreams. I'm too cheap to buy one.

Blue lines are public land boundaries except where a triangle or the words "check it"appears. . Red triangles and blue boxed in small areas are just markers or areas of interest.

Sorry that this post isn't about your topic, but I recognized the app you're using there (Back Country Navigator correct?) and I was curious as to how you got the blue lines on there marking the land boundaries. I use that app a lot, I like it a lot as a back up/ different source to my Garmin GPS, but I'm unaware as to how you would get boundary information on it.
