Feedback on Wired To Hunt Podcast?

Unread postby WiredToHunt » Tue Aug 05, 2014 2:30 am

I've really appreciated so many folks from The Beast checking out The Wired To Hunt Podcast over the past few months and for that reason I wanted to get your personal feedback on the show so far and what you'd like to see in the future. With hunting season almost here, I want to make sure we're focusing on the right things on the podcast over the coming months.

We're planning on continuing to have interviews with interesting deer hunters, both big names and lesser known folks, and we'll continue to focus on DIY tactics for big whitetails, hunting heavily pressured areas, etc. We're also going to be providing some in-the-field type reports during the season, as Dan and I share updates on conditions, deer activity, etc from our hunts across Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.

All that said, what else would you guys like to see? Anything you've really liked or really hated so far? Any and all feedback is appreciated, and I'm sure it will help us make sure The Wired To Hunt Podcast is as valuable as possible to other hardcore hunters like you guys.

Thanks!

(If you haven't checked out the podcast yet, here's a link to our archive of episodes - including our interview with Dan, the Hunting Beast himself! http://wiredtohunt.com/w2hpodcastpage/)

I've been listening, the podcasts are awesome. Keep up the good work! My only critique would be work on balancing your audio levels so that the interviewee (im assuming he is on the phone, skype or something) is at a similar volume to your audio.

I found this site because of episode #3, so thanks for that. It's honestly the best podcast out there that I know of. You and Dan do a good job keeping it entertaining and informative even without a guest. I like that you keep it to an hour, because I am always wanting more when it's over. I'd like to hear from more public land guys. The management stuff is interesting, but it doesn't apply if you don't have the resources. I always like hearing from biologists, especially when whey can confirm or deny traditional thinking. I know you've already had Grant Woods, and I think he's great, but you had to have met some other smart guys at the QDMA meeting. I'm looking forward to watching you shoot Leaner on the webshow this year as well.

I posted this on archerytalk but I'll say it again. Dans interview was the best. I'm sure there are many people that enjoyed the lakoskys and matt Drury but 99% of the listeners can use Dans tactics, not many listers have well managed farms in Iowa. I'd love to hear another podcast with Dan personally.

I've listen to them all & enjoyed them. I think Dan's interview applied the most to public land hunters.

I would like to hear an interview with the head of UGA's deer lab. They have couple telemetry studies ongoing that should shed some light on the movement patterns of mature bucks on public land.

Good stuff so far! Maybe do some things focused on each state in the whitetail region. For example a 15 minute piece on the new WI regs, and maybe a piece on Michigan antler restrictions and how they have worked/not worked in areas. Little things like that with experts or people with good knowledge of subjects or topics. Love your work so far!

Thanks so much everyone! This is all great feedback, and will really help as I get to work on the new shows heading into this fall. I really appreciate the ideas and the support.
