A recent thread asking for entrance route critique got me thinking. How do you guys like to get in to set a stand when mobile hunting bucks near bedding in the evening in hill country? Do you come from the top or bottom? Does the size and shape of the point change things? If so how? I know some guys post up by the tops of nearby draws. Is that a better tactic than trying to get set up off wind on narrow steep points? Any input is appreciated!

Re: The Approach
In most cases wait as late as possible to start your entry. You may only be able to get within a couple hundred yards of the buck. To close and it's over before it starts. But that takes time to learn. he may reach you before dark or he may not. All depends where you hunt and how much pressure there is.
